Post-doc in a group of researchers

AGH University of Krakow is offering a full-time, on-site postdoctoral position in a research group at the Department of Chemistry and Metal Corrosion / Department of Chemistry and Corrosion of Metals. The appointment is tied to the project “3D-printed bone implants - exploring the relationship between the chemical and spatial structure of implants and their surface, mechanical, osteogenic and anticancer properties” (project no. 2023/49/B/ST4/00077), funded under the OPUS-25 call. The post-doc will contribute to an interdisciplinary programme focused on 3D-printed bone scaffold models and metallic nanostructures, linking chemistry, materials science, biomedical engineering, and surface analysis. Duties include synthesis of bare and surface-functionalized metallic nanostructures, optimization of materials for scaffold fabrication, 3D printing and design of scaffold models, sample preparation for physicochemical and mechanical tests, mechanical testing, spectroscopic surface analysis, wear evaluation, data interpretation, and preparation of scientific publications and project reports. This position is especially relevant to researchers with experience in biomaterials, nanomaterials, surface spectroscopy, mechanical characterization, and additive manufacturing. The advertised research areas span chemistry, physical chemistry, structural chemistry, biochemistry, biophysics, surface physics, chemical physics, biomedical engineering, biomaterial engineering, chemical engineering, biotechnology, interface technology, nanotechnology, and medical technology. Applicants must hold a PhD in Chemical Sciences, Physical Sciences, Materials Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Biomedical Engineering, with the doctorate awarded no earlier than seven years prior to employment (subject to eligible career breaks). The host institution also requires the doctorate to have been obtained elsewhere than AGH University, or alternatively a qualifying postdoctoral fellowship elsewhere. Additional requirements include strong laboratory experience in 3D printing, polymers, composites, spectroscopy for surface analysis, or mechanical testing; ability to manage or support research projects; good command of Microsoft Office and data/spectra processing tools; and English at B2 level or higher. The post is full-time with a salary of not less than 7300 PLN gross per month. The recruitment process involves formal assessment of the application documents and compliance with requirements, followed by substantive evaluation and potentially an interview. The application deadline is 3 September 2026 at 23:59 (Europe/Warsaw), and the planned starting date is 15 September 2026. Applications should be sent by email to proniewi@agh.edu.pl and must include the application letter, CV, personal questionnaire, evidence of qualifications and skills, proof of English proficiency, doctoral diploma or equivalent proof, and the required declarations concerning sole employment, legal compliance, and data protection. Additional details on employment conditions, benefits, career development, and assessment criteria are available via the AGH HRS4R and university job pages.
