University College Dublin is recruiting 2 post-doctoral researchers in Quantum Computing for Power and Energy Systems within the QUBIC project (Quantum Utilisation for Breakthroughs in Ireland’s Computing). The project focuses on applying quantum computing to high-impact sectors, and this specific work package targets the use of quantum methods for modern electrical power system analysis, control, and optimisation . The successful researchers will join an interdisciplinary team of UCD and industry researchers, working alongside both Electrical Power Systems experts and Quantum Computing experts. Relevant academic areas include Computer Science , Electrical Engineering , Physics , Mathematics , and Industrial Engineering , with research interests in quantum algorithms, optimization, AI/ML, and stochastic modelling for energy systems. Two positions are mentioned: Post 019552 (2-year position, Post-doctoral Research Fellow Level 1) and Post 019556 (until 28 February 2029, Post-doctoral Research Fellow Level 2).
