Yale University is advertising a Postgraduate Associate in a Food Allergy Lab (Liu Lab) in the Section of Rheumatology, Allergy and Immunology, Department of Internal Medicine, Yale School of Medicine. This research position is centered on food allergy , immunology , and translational lab work. The lab will use mouse models to study the cells and pathways involved in food allergy development, and will also analyze blood and fecal samples from patients to understand how IgA may affect food allergy risk. The appointee will work closely with Assistant Professor Elise Liu and, as they gain experience, may take on responsibility for individual experiments and animal care. The post is embedded in a strong research environment at Yale School of Medicine, with connections to the Craft Lab and the Department of Immunobiology. Training includes lab safety, animal safety, mouse procedures, ELISA, flow cytometry, data analysis, and support for abstracts and manuscripts. The appointee may also attend lab meetings, seminars, and research-in-progress presentations, and postgraduate associates are eligible to audit Yale classes. Eligibility highlights: a bachelor’s degree is required; willingness to work with mice is required; strong communication and organization skills, scientific curiosity, and enthusiasm for learning are expected. Previous lab experience is preferred but not required. Funding: the annual salary is $45,600. The appointment is for one year with a possibility of renewal for a second year.
