The lab studies how gene expression regulation can be repurposed for regeneration in the mammalian central nervous system. Projects use glial biology, stem cell biology, molecular engineering, animal models, single-cell multiomics, spatial genomics, transcriptomics, epigenomics, and sequence-to-function modelling to understand injury response and repair mechanisms. The lab is based in the Department of Cell and Molecular Biology at Karolinska Institutet in Stockholm/Solna, Sweden.
Funding varies by opening. The scholarship-based postdoctoral opportunity is tax free and paid in 12-month blocks, with a maximum of two years within a four-year period after the doctorate. The employment-based postdoctoral and research assistant roles are full-time positions with salary; no stipend amount is stated in the post.
Eligibility differs by role. The scholarship requires a foreign researcher coming to Sweden and a completed doctorate or equivalent before the start date. The postdoctoral employment requires a PhD or equivalent, with recent completion advantageous. The research assistant role requires an MSc in bioinformatics, computational biology, biotechnology, or a related field, plus experience with single-cell/spatial genomics and R/Python.
