Funded postdoctoral opportunities are available in soft humanoid robotics at the Bio-Inspired Robotics Laboratory , Department of Precision Engineering, University of Tokyo . The position focuses on research in design , control , sensing , and simulation of soft humanoid robots. The lab also highlights broader interests in biologically inspired robotics , soft robotics , humanoid robotics , sensing systems, and soft matter modelling and analysis. Applicants should have a relevant first degree and a PhD (or be close to completion) in mechanical engineering , electrical engineering , computer science , materials science , or a related field. Experience in rapid prototyping is required. Exceptionally qualified candidates may be considered for a project assistant professor appointment with a higher salary scale. The appointment is for 24 months with a possibility of extension. The post is based in the Bio-Inspired Robotics Lab at the Department of Precision Engineering, University of Tokyo, and the successful candidate will contribute to the department’s research and teaching environment.
