Postdoctoral Associate in T cell Engineering and Translation
in the Coukos Laboratory, based in the Sandra and Edward Meyer Cancer Center in New York, USA.
The project focuses on
T cell biology

, with an emphasis on developing next-generation
tumor-infiltrating lymphocyte (TIL)
therapies for solid tumors. The work includes engineering TILs with synthetic secreted immune-modulatory modules such as antibodies, cytokines, chemokines, and other programmable biologics to improve tumor recognition, immune recruitment, persistence, and resistance to immunosuppression.
The postdoctoral fellow will work on innovative platforms for adoptive cell therapy, including novel gene delivery technologies, viral and non-viral vector architectures, synthetic gene circuits, multiplex genetic engineering, regulated transgene expression, large-payload delivery, and manufacturing-compatible cell engineering. The role is highly translational and sits at the interface of immunology, vector engineering, genome engineering, computational biology, translational oncology, and clinical development.
Applicants must hold a
Ph.D.
in immunology, molecular/cell biology, or a related field. The posting asks for demonstrated experience in immunology research with a focus on T cell biology, a strong publication record, and the ability to work in a collaborative environment. Preferred experience includes cancer biology, cell and/or gene therapy, functional assay platforms, and translational oncology mouse models.
Funding details include a starting salary of
$75,812
, with salary set in accordance with the Weill Cornell Medicine Postdoctoral Union collective bargaining agreement. The appointment is annual with possible renewal, and J-1 visa eligibility may be available. The position is located at Weill Cornell Medicine’s Belfer Research Building in New York City.
