Aalto University is recruiting one doctoral researcher / PhD student for the AEGIS (Adaptive Grid-Interactive Edge Datacenter Fleets) MSCA Doctoral Network . The project is an EU-funded European research and training network running from 2026 to 2030 and training 15 doctoral candidates. The advertised project topic is End-to-End Energy Modeling for Distributed AI Services . The research focuses on energy modeling , carbon-aware computing , computer networks , telecommunications , RAN , and datacenter hardware . The goal is to build compositional energy models spanning the radio network, transport network, and datacenter hardware, and to expose them through a fast query interface for AI workloads. You will develop analytical and compositional models, validate them on Aalto and Ericsson testbeds, and build a low-latency API that estimates end-to-end energy cost for distributed AI services.
