The post is centered on German as a Foreign Language , German Linguistics , and German Literature , and is suitable for scholars who can teach both foundational German language courses and more specialized courses aligned with their research. Applicants must hold a PhD in a related field, have a strong publication record , and bring university-level teaching experience . The department also values experience teaching German in a Chinese-speaking environment and some knowledge of Chinese. Faculty at NTU are expected to contribute to the department curriculum, direct theses, serve on committees, obtain national grants, and publish in top-tier journals. The position is based at National Taiwan University in Taipei, Taiwan . Salary is set by the Ministry of Education, and the package includes possible merit pay, startup funds, family health insurance, competitive research grants and awards, and subsidized university housing subject to availability.
