Harper Adams University’s Animals in Education research team is recruiting for two PhD opportunities advertised through the Midlands Integrative Biosciences Training Partnership (MIBTP) . The first project, “Improving animal welfare practices in Veterinary Education: an evidence-based approach” , focuses on how live animals are used in veterinary education and aims to build an evidence base for better practice. The second project, “Balancing education and welfare: Quantifying the impact of farm animal use in education to inform evidence-based guidelines” , examines farm animal use across a wider range of educational contexts. The team notes that they have dairy cattle, beef cattle, pigs and sheep on site for teaching activities and established contacts at other institutions for data collection. This is a competitive funding opportunity . The post states that direct applications are not accepted and that applicants must apply through the website. It also notes that only home student tuition fees can be paid through this route. Relevant study areas include animal behaviour , animal welfare , veterinary science , education research , and farm animal welfare . Interested candidates should review the project pages and follow the application instructions on the website. For questions, the poster invites interested applicants to get in touch with Dr Holly Vickery .
