A postdoctoral opening is available in the Iatsenko Lab at the University of Graz, Austria . The position is for a Postdoctoral Researcher / University Assistant with a doctorate to join a new chapter of the group as it moves to Graz. The research will focus on host–microbe interactions , microbe–microbe interactions , infection biology , immunity , and microbial community dynamics using Drosophila as a model system. The project sits at the interface of microbial pathogenesis , host–microbiota interactions , polymicrobial infections , and microbial ecology . The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop an independent research project while working in an interdisciplinary environment with access to strong research infrastructure and collaborations. Preferred backgrounds include microbiology , molecular biology , microbial pathogenesis , and microbiome research . Experience with bacterial genetics is especially relevant. Additional experience with Drosophila , sequencing , proteomics , or metabolomics would be a plus. This is a postdoctoral opportunity rather than a PhD or master's call.
