Postdoctoral Scholarship in Power Electronics for Future Air Mobility

FAPESP is advertising a postdoctoral scholarship in Power Electronics within the project Engineering Research Center for the Future of Air Mobility (FLYMOV) . The position is hosted at the Faculty of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Campinas State University (FEEC-Unicamp) in Campinas, Brazil , under the supervision of Prof. Jose Antenor Pomilio . The research topic is centered on power electronics for an electric aircraft environment, with emphasis on the operational compliance of power converters using wide-bandgap (WBG) devices . The work includes studying electromagnetic compatibility (EMC), the effects of dv/dt and di/dt on cables, motors and other components, transistor drivers, reliability, and related converter issues for propulsion motor drives and power-source interconnection. This is a funded postdoctoral opportunity with a scholarship amount of R$ 12,570.00 . There is 1 vacancy , and the expected start date is January 2027 . Applicants should have a PhD in Electrical/Electronic Engineering obtained in 2020, with emphasis on power electronics. Desired experience includes converter topologies, control and modulation, modeling and control of power converters, simulation tools such as Cadence/Orcad, PSIM, Plecs, and Matlab/Simulink, as well as software and hardware development skills including C/C++, Python, microcontrollers, FPGAs, DSPs, PCB layout, EMC, and thermal management. English fluency and basic Portuguese communication skills are required; experience with multilevel motors and inverters is desirable.
