PhD Student in Human T Cell Immunology and Flavivirus Research

PhD student position in human T cell immunology at the Schober Lab, Institute of Clinical Microbiology, Immunology and Hygiene, Universitätsklinikum Erlangen / Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg, Germany. The project focuses on human antigen-specific T cell responses to flavivirus infection and vaccination , with a strong emphasis on T cell receptor (TCR) repertoire analysis , epitope specificity, and large-scale TCR re-expression. The work combines flow cytometry , single-cell RNA sequencing , molecular epitope screens, and CRISPR/Cas9-based transgenic TCR re-expression. This opportunity is well suited to candidates interested in immunology , virology , molecular biology , and high-throughput mechanistic approaches to understanding how T cells recognize pathogens and shape immune responses. Eligibility: an excellent M.Sc. degree in immunology, biology, biochemistry, biotechnology, molecular medicine, bioinformatics, or an equivalent field; good working knowledge in immunology or molecular biology; scientific enthusiasm; teamwork; and English proficiency. Funding: paid PhD employment according to TV-L E13 , depending on qualifications and personal prerequisites. The position is intended for three years , with part-time employment possible.
