PhD Researcher in Research Integrity at KU Leuven

KU Leuven’s Centre for Biomedical Ethics and Law is recruiting a PhD researcher for an FWO-funded project on research integrity . The project asks how universities and research institutions can move beyond rules, procedures, and compliance to build a genuine culture of integrity in science. The doctoral research will examine how research integrity becomes institutionalized and what can be learned from corporate ethics and compliance models to strengthen responsible research practices. This opportunity is based at the Centre for Biomedical Ethics and Law , Faculty of Medicine, Department of Public Health & Primary Care, KU Leuven . The position is full-time and offered within an internationally recognized multidisciplinary research team. Eligibility: applicants should hold a Master’s degree in Philosophy, Theology, Bioethics, Medicine, Economics, Social Sciences, Psychology, or a related field. Experience with social scientific methods, especially qualitative methods, is expected. Strong independence, teamwork in an international multidisciplinary setting, and excellent English writing and communication skills are required. Dutch is an asset. Funding and contract: the PhD position is funded by FWO. The initial contract is for one year and can be extended after positive evaluation for up to four years. Deadline: 31 July 2026.
