Harvard University is advertising a postdoctoral fellowship in cell death / apoptosis research within the Sarosiek Laboratory at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health , in the John B. Little Center for Radiation Sciences and the Department of Environmental Health. The lab, led by Professor Kristopher A. Sarosiek , studies regulated cell death pathways including apoptosis , ferroptosis , and pyroptosis . The research is translational and focuses on how cell death pathways are regulated in healthy and diseased cells, with applications to cancer biology , therapeutics , neurodevelopment , and neurodegeneration . The group uses biochemical, cellular, and molecular biology approaches in vitro and in vivo. Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in a relevant field. The posting particularly welcomes candidates with experience in molecular biology , biochemistry , and cell-based assays , and gives preference to applicants with research experience in cancer biology and therapeutics as well as neurodevelopment and neurodegeneration . A strong publication/productivity record is encouraged. Independent funding is not required, but the successful fellow is expected to apply for external research fellowships.
