Fully Funded Joint PhD in Customer Service, GenAI, and Service Marketing

Fully funded joint PhD opportunity in customer service, GenAI, service marketing, technology adoption, and organizational strategy at The University of Melbourne and KU Leuven . This project examines why GenAI initiatives fail in organizations and what helps them succeed, with a strong focus on the AI implementation gap, the role of human employees, reskilling and upskilling, and the impact of GenAI adoption on firm value and service work. Successful candidates will join an international doctoral experience across two leading universities and work with internationally recognised supervisors: Prof. Liliana Bove (University of Melbourne), Prof. Yves Van Vaerenbergh (KU Leuven), and Prof. Bart Larivie (KU Leuven). The scholarship is fully funded and tax-free for four years and includes a tuition fee waiver , health and travel insurance , relocation allowance , and a minimum 12-month research stay at the partner institution. The PhD leads to a joint degree with two testamurs. Eligibility highlights include a minimum WAM of 80 , a strong academic background in marketing , interest in AI , service technologies , and organizational strategy , plus strong analytical and research skills and ambition to publish in leading academic journals.
