Postdoctoral Researcher in Eating Disorder Epidemiology and Genetics at Karolinska Institutet

Karolinska Institutet is seeking a postdoctoral researcher to join the Psychiatric Epidemiology Group and the Centre for Eating Disorders Innovation (CEDI) in Stockholm, Sweden. The position focuses on the genetic and environmental etiology of eating disorders, with a primary emphasis on avoidant/restrictive food intake disorder (ARFID). Research will utilize large-scale genomic and register-linked data, collaborating closely with international consortia such as the Psychiatric Genomics Consortium Eating Disorders Working Group (PGC-ED). The Department of Medical Epidemiology and Biostatistics at Karolinska Institutet is one of Europe's largest, with strong research profiles in psychiatric, cancer, reproductive, pediatric, pharmaco, genetic, and geriatric epidemiology, as well as biostatistics. The successful candidate will join a collaborative, international research environment with access to unique, richly phenotyped and genotyped cohorts linked to Swedish health registers. The position offers strong mentorship, weekly supervision by Assistant Professor Lisa Dinkler, and opportunities for independent research development and external funding applications. Applicants must hold a PhD in a relevant discipline (epidemiology, genetics, biostatistics, psychiatry, psychology, or related medical sciences) and demonstrate strong skills in data management, statistical analysis, and programming (preferably in R). Experience with large-scale datasets, genomic data analysis, and scientific publishing is required. Excellent English communication skills and motivation to work with ARFID and eating disorders are essential. Meriting criteria include prior experience in eating disorder research, handling large-scale survey or health record data, first-author publications, clinical work, research funding applications, and Swedish language skills. This is a two-year, full-time, temporary position with the possibility of extension, fully funded by Karolinska Institutet.
