Funded PhD Scholarship in Sleep, Fatigue and Safety at CQUniversity (Adelaide)

CQUniversity is recruiting two funded PhD candidates for a laboratory-based research project at the Appleton Institute in Adelaide focused on on-call work, sleep, fatigue, and safety . The project examines the effects of repeated overnight call-outs on sleep disruption and recovery, with the goal of generating evidence to improve fatigue risk management and workplace safety in essential industries. This opportunity is part of the CQUniversity and ARC PhD Scholarship and is described as a fully funded PhD scholarship with a stipend of AU$38,000 per year for 3 years . The scholarship is based in Adelaide and requires full-time internal enrolment at CQUniversity. International students may apply, and their tuition fees will be waived. Research area keywords: sleep, fatigue, safety, on-call work, workplace health and safety, public health, psychology, and human performance. The successful candidate will join a collaborative research team and work in a world-class sleep laboratory environment. Eligibility highlights: applicants should have an Honours degree (I or IIA), a Master’s degree with a significant research component, or an equivalent qualification in a relevant field such as public health, psychology, or sport and exercise science. Applicants must also meet CQUniversity PhD admission requirements, have no disqualifying prior research scholarship, and be willing to work outside standard office hours, including nights and weekends, for data collection. How to apply: send a brief CV and a 250-word expression of interest/statement to Dr. Madeline Sprajcer at [email protected] . Applications close on 10 July , and early expressions of interest are encouraged.
