Fully funded PhD opportunity in Dublin at University College Dublin (UCD) through the UCD China Scholarship Council (CSC) Scholarship Scheme. The Health Sensing and Microsystems group is seeking motivated PhD candidates to work on research in wearable and implantable bioelectronics , ultra-low-power analogue front-ends , neural data acquisition and signal processing , and low-cost printed sensors . This is a strong fit for students interested in electronic engineering, biomedical engineering, materials engineering, physics, and related areas. Funding: UCD pays tuition fees. CSC covers the living allowance and return airfare. The award is for a 4-year full-time PhD, and there is also a 6 to 24 month research visit option for current PhD students. No application fee is required. Eligibility: Applicants must be citizens of the People’s Republic of China, living in China or abroad. Eligible applicants include final-year undergraduates, Master’s students, and first-year PhD students. English language requirements are IELTS 6.5 overall with no band below 6.0, or TOEFL 90. A UCD supervisor’s agreement is required before applying. Timeline: Applications open on 1 November 2026 and close on 31 January 2027. CSC assessment takes place in March/April, results are expected in June, and the start date is September 2027.
