PhD Position in Satellite InSAR for Transport Infrastructure Monitoring at Politecnico di Milano , Italy. The position is offered under the SHIFTIN project: Towards Resilient, Sustainable, and Biodiversity-Friendly Transport Infrastructure . The successful candidate will work under the supervision of Maria Pina Limongelli (Associate Professor) on research related to satellite radar interferometry (InSAR) , remote sensing , transport infrastructure monitoring , structural health monitoring , and geospatial data processing . Ideal profile: strong programming skills in Python , Linux , and Git ; solid background in mathematics and signal processing ; excellent written and spoken English ; and strong motivation to apply advanced monitoring methods to real infrastructure problems. Experience with SAR/InSAR data processing and open-source geospatial software is an advantage, but not mandatory. Knowledge of Italian is helpful but not required. The project offers the opportunity to build expertise in satellite radar interferometry , uncertainty-aware interpretation of displacement time series , and infrastructure applications within an international European research project .
