Postdoctoral Associate in Immunology and Host–Pathogen Interactions at Boston University
Boston University’s Department of Medicine, Bosmann Laboratory, is recruiting a
Postdoctoral Associate
to work on
immunology
and
host–pathogen interactions
in
Boston, Massachusetts, United States
.
The lab studies how the immune system responds at barrier surfaces such as the lung and gut, with a focus on bacterial infections, inflammatory bowel disease, pneumonia, sepsis, and related inflammatory diseases. Research themes include bacterial polyphosphates in immunity, innate immune cells (macrophages, neutrophils, T cells), cytokine biology, and immune signaling pathways such as G-protein signaling.
Projects may be tailored to the fellow’s background and interests, including IBD-related mucosal immunity or pneumonia/sepsis, and may involve pathogens such as
Escherichia coli
,
Streptococcus pneumoniae
, and
Legionella
spp. The environment includes access to single-cell transcriptomics (scRNA-seq, TOTAL-seq), phospho-/proteomics, and bioinformatics support.
Preferred applicants have prior experience in experimental immunology, mouse models of infection or inflammation, innate immunity, and/or transcriptomic or proteomic approaches. The position is full-time and offers a salary range of
$67,500–$75,000
.
