PhD opportunity in Microwave Plasma Methane Pyrolysis Research (4 years) at the Department of Energy Conversion Engineering, Wrocław University of Science and Technology, Poland. The project, Beyond Carbon: Unlocking New Possibilities in Microwave Plasma Methane Pyrolysis (CtoC2) , is funded by the National Science Centre (Poland) under the OPUS 30 programme. The research explores new pathways for microwave plasma methane pyrolysis, aiming to go beyond conventional carbon production and identify other valuable products. Research interests and keywords: Chemical Engineering, Power Engineering, Environmental Engineering, microwave plasma, methane pyrolysis, high-temperature processes, gas chromatography, FTIR gas analysis, carbon material characterization. Candidate profile: The ideal applicant has an MSc degree in Chemical Engineering, Power Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline. Fluent English is required. Experience with high-temperature processes, gas chromatography, FTIR gas analysis, and carbon material characterization techniques is preferred. Funding: Candidates are encouraged to enrol in the Doctoral School of Wrocław University of Science and Technology, which offers a combined scholarship of approximately 7,000 PLN per month, with potential increases during the PhD period.
