Postdoctoral Positions in International and Transnational Adjudication at iCourts, University of Copenhagen

Postdoctoral Positions in International and Transnational Adjudication at the Faculty of Law, University of Copenhagen , within iCourts, Centre of Excellence for International Courts and Governance . The positions are part of the Avant-Courts project, led by Professor Mikael Rask Madsen . The project studies how the global legal order is changing through the rise of new hybrid courts at the frontiers of the global economy, with particular attention to jurisdictional battles, legal knowledge exchange, and new litigation hubs. The postdoctoral research is expected to contribute especially to virtual courts or space adjudication , while adjacent topics in international and transnational adjudication are also welcome. This is a strong fit for candidates in law and related social sciences such as political science , sociology , and international relations . The role includes independent peer-reviewed research, participation in the research environment at the University of Copenhagen, international conferences and research stays abroad, and some teaching at undergraduate and graduate level in Danish or English. Eligibility requires a PhD, JSD, or equivalent degree in law or a relevant social science field, or near-completion by the start date. Strong English skills are required, and the faculty values a record or clear potential for high-quality publications, plus experience in collaborative research and teaching. There are 2 postdoctoral positions available from 1 February 2027 for a duration of 2-3 years . Salary and employment conditions follow the Danish AC agreement, including pension contributions and possible salary supplements. Application deadline: 15 September 2026, 23:59 CEST .
