Postdoctoral Associate Position in Translational Oncology and Drug Resistance in the Elliott Lab
The Elliott Lab at
Yale University
, within the Center for Breast Cancer at Yale Cancer Center and Yale School of Medicine, is recruiting a
Postdoctoral Associate
in
translational oncology
. Led by
Mitchell Elliott
(Assistant Professor of Medicine, Medical Oncology), the lab studies the
molecular evolution of drug resistance in breast cancer
, with a focus on
topoisomerase-1 inhibitor antibody-drug conjugates (TOP1i-ADCs)
.
The position combines
wet-lab cancer biology
with clinically oriented translational research. Core activities include mammalian cell culture, cloning, plasmid preparation, gene editing, functional phenotyping, in vitro and in vivo drug efficacy assays, patient-derived xenograft (PDX) models, and development/validation of
circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA)
and liquid biopsy technologies. Computational analysis is not required but is strongly encouraged, especially for multi-omic data such as structural variants and transcriptomics using
R
or
Python
pipelines.
Applicants must hold a
Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent doctoral degree
in cancer biology, molecular and cellular biology, genetics, pharmacology, or a closely related field. The post emphasizes prior experience in oncology, drug resistance, molecular biology, mammalian cell culture, and rigorous experimental design. Experience with PDX models, ctDNA assays, UNIX, or bioinformatic pipelines is highly desirable. A strong publication record, communication skills, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively are expected.
The role offers close mentorship from Dr. Elliott and the multidisciplinary Yale breast oncology team, with support for manuscript preparation, grant writing, presentations, and career development toward an independent clinician-scientist or research path. Compensation is
$68,500
or commensurate with experience, and the preferred start date is
October 1, 2026
. Applications are reviewed until the position is filled.
To apply, send a
