Postdoctoral Fellow in Artificial Intelligence, Vision-Language Models, and Multimodal Deep Learning

United Arab Emirates University (UAEU), College of Information Technology / Computer and Network Engineering Department, is recruiting a Postdoctoral Fellow in Artificial Intelligence . The project is centered on advanced AI research for next-generation intelligent systems, with a strong emphasis on Deep Learning , Vision-Language Models (VLMs) , Large Language Models (LLMs) , Multimodal AI , Computer Vision , Generative AI , Transformers , Reinforcement Learning , Optimization , and Explainable AI (XAI) . The role involves designing and training deep learning and multimodal models, building VLM and LLM-integrated pipelines, implementing transformer-based architectures for visual and textual understanding, working with multimodal datasets, applying evolutionary algorithms and optimization strategies, and developing interpretable AI solutions. The successful candidate will also contribute to research publications in leading AI conferences and journals and assist with prototype deployment and scalable AI system integration. Eligibility highlights: a PhD in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field; strong knowledge of deep learning and neural networks; experience with Python and frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow; and experience with computer vision and multimodal AI systems. Preferred applicants have publications in top AI journals or conferences and familiarity with LLMs/VLMs. Expected skills include ViTs, CLIP, BLIP, LLaVA, GPT-based systems, and parameter-efficient fine-tuning methods such as LoRA, QLoRA, adapters, and RLHF.
