PhD in Computational Biology, AI and Cancer Research at spaXio MSCA Doctoral Network

spaXio, an EU-funded MSCA Doctoral Network focused on spatial crosstalk in immuno-oncology , is still recruiting for two fully funded PhD positions in Europe. The open projects sit at the intersection of computational biology , artificial intelligence , cancer research , spatial omics , machine learning , and systems medicine . Project 10 is based at the University of Tübingen, Germany in the Claassen Lab. This project develops transformer-based deep learning and explainable AI methods to analyze spatial proteomics data, identify disease-associated tumour microenvironment patterns, and support the in silico design of therapeutic tumour microenvironment modifications. Project 13 is based with DeepLife and Aix-Marseille University, Marseille, France . It focuses on digital twin modeling for tumour-relevant cell types by integrating single-cell and spatial multi-omics data to simulate metastatic niche interactions and guide experimental validation in breast and colorectal cancer . The network offers extensive training , secondments , and collaborative research opportunities across Europe. The positions are described as fully funded and supported by the MSCA DN budget and salary . Applications are still welcome. Candidates should use the official application form and reference letter template from the spaXio website and submit materials to [email protected] . The recruitment page notes that Project 10 and Project 13 are re-opened and that the positions must be filled by September 2026 .
