Postdoc in AI and Machine Learning for Electromobility and EV Fleet Coordination
Postdoc opportunity in AI and Machine Learning for Electromobility at Chalmers University of Technology, Sweden.
The project is hosted in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, within the Division of Data Science and AI, and carried out in the Machine Learning and Decision Making Lab in collaboration with the Automatic Control group and the Mathematical Optimization group.
The research focuses on
energy-aware coordination of electric vehicle fleets
for resilient transport systems during emergency evacuations. The project aims to develop novel AI methods for large-scale evacuation planning under energy and infrastructure constraints, using
reinforcement learning, deep learning, generative AI
, and benchmarking against mathematical optimization approaches.
Applicants must hold a doctoral degree in computer science, artificial intelligence, applied mathematics, physics, electrical engineering, or a closely related field by the time of appointment. Strong research experience in AI, machine learning, and optimization is required, along with strong programming skills (preferably Python and PyTorch) and strong English communication skills. Experience with reinforcement learning, Markov decision processes, control theory, and high-impact publications will strengthen the application.
The position is a
two-year full-time postdoctoral employment
starting on January 1, 2027. It requires physical presence throughout the employment. Chalmers offers employee benefits and a dynamic research environment in Gothenburg, Sweden.
To apply, prepare the application in English as PDF files: a comprehensive CV with publications, details of teaching and supervision experience, and a personal letter describing your background, research achievements, and future research goals.
