Postdoctoral Scholar opportunity at the University of Calgary in the Schulich School of Engineering , working with the Hybrid Advanced Materials Processing (Hy-AMP) Lab on advanced materials processing and energy storage materials . The project focuses on early-stage materials development for solid-state hydrogen storage and thermal management architectures . The research includes experimental work in powder/material characterization , controlled-environment screening, thermal-response testing, and feasibility assessment of advanced material architectures. Applicants should hold a PhD in Materials Science , Mechanical Engineering , Chemical Engineering , Metallurgical Engineering , or a closely related field. Helpful experience includes hydrogen handling, metal powder handling, metal hydrides, additive manufacturing, thermal analysis, SEM/EDS, XRD, pressure-rated systems, and controlled-atmosphere experiments. The position starts in January 2027 , lasts 1 year , and may be extended depending on funding. The work location is Calgary, Alberta, Canada . Preference may be given to Canadian citizens or permanent residents.
