Georg-August-Universität Göttingen is inviting applications for
2 PhD student positions
in
chemical biology
and
photochemistry
within the Institute for Organic and Biomolecular Chemistry.
The project is affiliated with the group of
Prof. Nadja Simeth
and focuses on organic photochemistry, bioorganic and labeling chemistry, and chemical biology. The advertised research mentions the design and investigation of photo-peptides for the regulation of enzyme function, in collaboration with groups in biology and biochemistry on the Göttingen campus.

Preferred experience
includes HPLC/LC-MS and preparative HPLC, biochemistry techniques, recombinant synthesis and enzyme activity studies, automated SPPS and peptide characterization, photochemistry (UV-Vis, NMR, light-sensitive compounds), and biomolecule labeling chemistry.
Funding and conditions:
the positions are funded by the Boehringer Ingelheim Foundation, initially for three years, with regular working hours of 25.87 hours per week and salary at the E13 TV-L (65%) level.
