Funded MSc and PhD opportunities in Geotechnical Engineering are available at Université de Sherbrooke through the GRID Lab (Geotechnical Resilience and Infrastructure Development Laboratory) . The research theme centers on climate-resilient infrastructure , with projects in ground improvement , soil–structure interaction , geomaterials , experimental geotechnical engineering , instrumentation , physical modelling , and computational/numerical geotechnics . The MSc project is described as an experimental geotechnical research project focused on ground improvement and its implications for resilient infrastructure. The PhD project aims to develop a deeper mechanistic understanding of geomaterials, ground improvement, and geotechnical systems. Supervisor(s): Naveel Islam (Assistant Professor, Université de Sherbrooke) and Dr. Vanessa Di Battista. Eligibility highlights: MSc applicants with hands-on curiosity and practical problem-solving skills are encouraged, and preference will be given to Canadian students or students from countries where French is an official language. PhD applicants should hold a Master’s degree in geotechnical, structural, or geological engineering, or a closely related field; prior research experience and publications are considered valuable.
