Postdoc Position in Immunology: Eosinophil Metabolic Rewiring and Tissue Adaptation

Postdoc position in Immunology at the University of Bonn / University Hospital Bonn, in the research group of Dr. Nicola Diny (Junior Research Group Leader). The project focuses on eosinophil metabolic rewiring in the context of tissue adaptation . The Diny lab studies myeloid cell biology, especially eosinophils and macrophages in tissue homeostasis and disease, with interest in how environmental sensing and transcriptional control shape immune-cell function. The postdoc will investigate how eosinophils adapt their metabolism to different tissue environments and how this supports tissue-specific functions. Research methods mentioned include genetically modified in vivo models , in vitro cell culture , advanced flow cytometry , imaging , CRISPR gene silencing , single-cell sequencing , and bioinformatics . This is a strong fit for candidates with interests in immunology , metabolism , molecular medicine , biology , and computational analysis of immune-cell data. Eligibility highlights: a PhD/doctorate in Immunology, Metabolism, Molecular Medicine, Biology, or equivalent; strong practical research background; desired experience with eosinophils, animal models, immunology/metabolism research, and bioinformatics data analysis; and excellent English communication skills. The position starts on 1 September 2026 and runs for 2 years . Salary is according to TV-L 13, 100% , with supplementary benefits under the VBL pension plan .
