Postdoctoral Researcher in Closed-Loop Neurostimulation and Computational Bioengineering

Postdoctoral Researcher / Staff Scientist in Closed-Loop Neurostimulation at The University of Texas at Austin . The Fenno Lab and Paydarfar Lab are jointly recruiting a PhD-level scientist to work at the intersection of computational modeling and translational bioengineering . The project focuses on closed-loop neurostimulation , bespoke waveform shaping, and precise neural control across the peripheral and central nervous system. This role is especially relevant for candidates interested in neuroscience , biomedical engineering , electrical engineering , biology , and computer science . The successful candidate will lead a multidisciplinary team and contribute to work spanning in vitro , in vivo , and human translation. Research responsibilities include developing and applying assays for closed-loop analysis of biological responses to electronic stimulation; owning in vivo validation pipelines in rodents; performing surgical workflows, neural stimulation and recording, behavioral assays, and ex vivo characterization; building custom recording setups with engineering collaborators; and working closely with computational theorists to connect model predictions with biological outcomes.
