Postdoctoral Associate in Kinesiology, Health, Cognitive Health, and Physical Activity
Rutgers University–New Brunswick is hiring a
Postdoctoral Associate
in the Department of Kinesiology and Health to work with
Dr. Peixuan Zheng
in the Physical Activity & Neuroscience Research Laboratory.
The position is centered on a
DoD/DoW-funded
project examining
cognitive health
,
vascular function
, and
physical activity
in people with
multiple sclerosis
and healthy controls. The postdoc will also contribute to related multidisciplinary projects at the intersection of
exercise science
,
brain health
,
wearable technology
,
human physiology
, and chronic conditions.
Research areas and methods
include human research and data collection, physiological assessment techniques (such as SphygmoCor, ultrasound, transcranial Doppler/TCD, and FMD), cognitive assessment, wearable sensors/actigraphy, and statistical analysis in R/RStudio or similar software. Experience with neuroimaging tools such as fNIRS, EEG, or fMRI is preferred.
Eligibility highlights:
Ph.D. in Kinesiology, Physiology, Neuroscience, Neurology, Biomedical Science, Psychology, Rehabilitation Science, or a related field. ABD candidates may be considered if the doctoral degree will be completed by the start date. Applicants should have human research experience, strong quantitative skills, and at least one first-author publication.
Funding and terms:
Salary is listed at
$63,000–$65,000
, with Rutgers benefits for eligible employees. The appointment is full-time and supported by grant funding.
