The doctoral research should examine how media and communication shape democracy , the public sphere , and citizenship in contemporary society. The department emphasizes both qualitative and quantitative methods, and the project should be grounded in a clear theoretical framework, research questions, aims, methodology, data type, and timeline. This is a 4-year full-time doctoral studentship (100% employment), with possible teaching and research administration duties of up to 20% . The position starts on 1 September 2026 (or as agreed) in Uppsala, Sweden .
