KU Leuven is offering a fully funded full-time postdoctoral position in interpersonal emotional processes within the Research Group of Quantitative Psychology and Individual Differences. The position is supervised by Prof. Eva Ceulemans and Prof. Peter Kuppens , and the group provides an international, productive, collaborative, multidisciplinary, and interactive research environment. The team is embedded in a strong academic setting at KU Leuven, a research-oriented university consistently ranked among Europe’s top institutions. The project focuses on the interpersonal nature of emotions in everyday life. Emotions are shaped and regulated within relationships, and this position aims to develop novel methods to study these processes using Experience Sampling Methods and/or to apply such methods to better understand how emotions unfold between people and how this relates to mental health. The work may include developing and applying innovative study designs for interpersonal emotion regulation, proposing and evaluating statistical or modeling approaches for dyadic time-series data, and analysing existing dyadic time series datasets to generate new insights into how emotions are regulated interpersonally. The postdoc will be expected to write high-quality scientific papers and present findings at national and international conferences. Candidates should hold a PhD in Psychology, Behavioral or Cognitive Sciences, Data Science, or a closely related field. Strong experience with time-series analysis and statistical methods is essential, together with effective communication, organizational skills, fluency in English, and a strong publication record. An interdisciplinary perspective is important, and prior familiarity with affect and emotion research is considered an advantage. The appointment is offered for 1 year initially, with a possible extension to 2 years . The salary is competitive and aligned with university standards.
