The postdoctoral fellow will join a collaborative research program on clinical AI and work with clinicians, clinical researchers, informaticians, and health-system leaders on applied projects using real-world patient and clinical data. The role emphasizes building, evaluating, and implementing AI tools for real clinical and research use, with a strong focus on safety, reliability, bias, usability, and effectiveness rather than benchmark performance alone.
Example research directions include patient-facing conversational agents, pre-visit history collection, preventive screening discussions, clinical documentation support, triage workflows, AI scribe evaluation, EHR-based NLP, and methods for evaluating LLM outputs in medicine. The position also offers flexibility for the fellow to develop self-initiated projects and a distinct scholarly agenda in clinical AI, LLM evaluation, patient-facing AI, or human–AI interaction in medicine.
