PhD and Postdoctoral Positions in AI for RNA Biology, Neuroscience and Health
Multiple PhD and postdoctoral positions are open in
AI for RNA biology, neuroscience, and health
within the newly funded
SATURNA
collaborative project supported by the
Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF)
.
The project is highly interdisciplinary and brings together expertise in
artificial intelligence
,
machine learning
,
natural language processing
,
knowledge engineering
,
graph representation learning
,
computational biology
,
bioinformatics
,
RNA biology
,
neuroscience
, and
translational medicine
. The scientific goal is to decode the language of RNA, understand how RNA shapes healthy and diseased cell states, and accelerate discoveries relevant to
cancer
,
neurodegeneration
, and future
RNA-based therapeutics
.
Partner institutions include the
University of Bern
,
EPFL
,
Idiap Research Institute
,
USI Università della Svizzera italiana
, and the
National University of Singapore
. The positions offer strong co-supervision and joint mentoring across AI, computational biology, and experimental biology groups, plus opportunities for secondments and research visits across partner labs, including in Singapore.
Applicants with backgrounds in
biology
,
RNA biology
,
neuroscience
,
stem cell biology
,
machine learning
,
AI
,
NLP
,
graph learning
,
generative models
,
computer science
,
