Investigating the involvement in sepsis of extracellular vesicles

This postdoctoral fellowship at the Sepsis Research Lab (LPS) of the Federal University of São Paulo's Medical School (EPM-UNIFESP) focuses on investigating the role of extracellular vesicles in sepsis. The successful candidate will use proteomics to characterize biological processes and cellular functions associated with differentially abundant proteins (DAPs) isolated from patient samples. The research involves advanced techniques such as flow cytometry, liquid chromatography with tandem mass spectroscopy (LC-MS/MS), nanoparticle tracking, and the isolation, purification, and characterization of extracellular vesicles. Applicants must have a PhD in biomedicine, biology, or related fields, and demonstrate high proficiency in the required laboratory techniques, as well as solid knowledge of cell biology and microbiology. Advanced English skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team are desirable. Scientific productivity will be assessed through publications and other contributions. The position is open to candidates of any nationality. The fellowship provides a monthly stipend of R$ 12,570.00 and a research contingency fund equal to 10% of the annual fellowship value, intended for research-related expenses. Applications should be submitted by email to Prof. Dr. Reinaldo Salomão, including a letter of interest, CV, FAPESP model curriculum summary (or similar for foreign researchers), and two letters of recommendation. The application deadline is October 30, 2025. For more details, visit the FAPESP opportunity page.
