Postdoctoral Scholar Positions in Magnetic Milli-Spinner Microbots for Endovascular Intervention
Stanford University’s Zhao Lab is recruiting
three Postdoctoral Scholars
for an ARPA-H project on
magnetic milli-spinner microbots
for
endovascular intervention
. The project focuses on next-generation robotic microdevices for minimally invasive vascular procedures, including clot debulking, navigation in tortuous vasculature, and autonomous control.
Research directions include
computation-guided design
and optimization of milli-spinner geometries and operating parameters,
machine learning
and optimization for design/control acceleration, benchtop experimental validation, vascular flow modeling, magnetic actuation, robotic hardware and imaging integration, and ex vivo/in vivo studies. A second track emphasizes
robotic control and autonomy
, including motion planning, localization, state estimation, closed-loop control, and AI-enabled autonomous endovascular intervention.
The lab’s research page highlights the broader milli-spinner platform for medical devices, including applications in stroke, heart attack, aneurysm treatment, and kidney stone-related technologies. This makes the opportunity especially relevant for candidates interested in
biomedical engineering
,
robotics
,
computer science
,
medical science
, and related areas.
Applicants should submit a CV, a brief statement of research interests, up to three representative publications, and contact information for three references. Review begins immediately and continues until all positions are filled. Contact:
