Postdoctoral Researcher in VOC Exchange and Biogenic Volatiles in Terrestrial Ecosystems

Postdoctoral Researcher Position at the Center for Volatile Interactions (VOLT), University of Copenhagen This is a 2-year postdoctoral opening in the area of biogenic volatile organic compounds (VOCs) , VOC exchange , and process understanding in terrestrial ecosystems . The position is hosted by the Center for Volatile Interactions (VOLT) in the Department of Biology, Faculty of SCIENCE, University of Copenhagen . The research environment focuses on the production, consumption, and transformation of volatile compounds associated with soil , cryptogams , freshwater , seawater , glacial ice , and plant leaf and rhizosphere microbial communities . The successful candidate will be able to propose an independent research plan based on their own skills and experience, with example systems including leaf surfaces , tree stems , soil , or lake sediment . Preferred background includes a strong publication record in biological VOC research , biogeochemistry , metabolomics , microbiology , or related fields. Required experience includes designing and conducting hypothesis-driven experiments. Desirable skills include PTR-MS , GC-MS , isotope-based approaches, advanced statistical analysis, and programming in R or Python . Experience with independent research, competitive funding, and external grant applications is an advantage. Applicants must hold a PhD in biology, chemistry, or a related field .
