Fully funded PhD scholarship at Australian National University (ANU), Canberra, Australia focused on canola , photosynthesis , plant physiology , molecular biology , and genetics . The project, Improving Canola Yield Through Pod Photosynthesis , aims to investigate the physiological, genetic, and molecular basis of pod photosynthesis in canola to identify traits that could improve seed filling and yield. The work combines laboratory and field-based plant research and is linked to practical crop improvement with industry collaboration. You would join the Furbank Group at ANU’s Research School of Biology. The group is known for photosynthesis and crop yield research, with strong facilities in plant phenomics, genomics, and gene editing. Eligibility: First-class Honours or Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Plant Physiology, Molecular Biology, Genetics, or a related discipline. Experience in plant research is preferred. Strong communication skills are required. International applicants are welcome. Funding: Tax-free stipend of $38,154 per year , tuition fully waived, duration up to 3.5 years .
