Fully Funded PhD in Ocular Genomics, Stem Cells and Computational Biology at Tel Aviv University

Fully funded PhD opportunity at Tel Aviv University in ocular genomics, stem cells, computational biology, bioinformatics, and multi-omics . The project is a collaborative effort across the Sagol School of Neuroscience , the Gray Faculty of Medical & Health Sciences , and the Edmond J. Safra Center for Bioinformatics . The research aims to uncover the non-coding genetic architecture and regulatory mechanisms underlying complex diseases that cause blindness. The successful PhD candidate will work across two complementary environments: the Ashery-Padan Lab for wet-lab work, where high-resolution multi-omics data will be generated using advanced molecular tools and stem cell models; and the Elkon Lab for dry-lab work, where bioinformatics pipelines, network analyses, and computational models will be developed and applied. This position is designed for a highly motivated researcher who wants to build expertise at the interface of biology and data science . The post specifically welcomes applicants with an excellent MSc degree in Life Sciences, Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Biotechnology , or a related field. Direct PhD track and MD-PhD candidates are encouraged to apply. Programming experience in R or Python is a strong advantage, and a proactive willingness to learn computational and bioinformatics tools is required.
