The lab combines ecology , developmental biology , and comparative genomics to study how diverse animal life histories emerge and evolve. Possible research directions include temperature-dependent sex determination (TSD) in turtles, focusing on ecological, evolutionary, and genomic processes shaping thermal responses, and epigenomic drivers of aging and life history variation in sharks and rays, including non-lethal age markers for conservation applications. Funding is described as a combination of teaching assistantships and research assistantships in the Department of Biology. The post lists a salary range of $20,542 to $31,826 per year . Students are admitted through the Integrative Biology MS or PhD graduate program .
