Aalto University is recruiting a Doctoral Researcher in Trustworthy Machine Learning at the School of Science , within the Department of Computer Science and the Trustworthy & Adversarial Computing Lab led by Sebastian Szyller . The position is centered on trustworthy machine learning , with research topics including verifiable, provable and auditable machine learning , adversarial robustness , privacy , fairness , AI/MLBOM , and proof-carrying ML . This is a fully funded PhD opening with a 2+2 model . The starting salary is 3168 EUR/month , and the contract includes occupational health benefits. The position is located at Aalto University’s Otaniemi campus in Espoo, Finland . Applicants should have excellent Python programming skills, familiarity with PyTorch , experience working on shared codebases, and strong applied mathematics skills (especially probability theory , matrix algebra , and calculus ). Suitable backgrounds include machine learning with a security/privacy angle, security/privacy applied to ML, explainable/interpretable/fair ML, or software supply chains.
