Postdoctoral Associate in ER Metabolism and Organelle Biology

Postdoctoral Associate in ER Metabolism and Organelle Biology at Yale School of Medicine The Liu Lab in the Department of Cell Biology at Yale School of Medicine is recruiting a postdoctoral associate to join a new research group focused on ER metabolism, organelle biology, cell biology, biochemistry, metabolomics, proteomics, redox biology, and metabolic disease . The lab studies how small molecules are transported, interconverted, compartmentalized, and sensed within organelles, with particular interest in ER metabolite transporters, organelle metabolomics, ER redox homeostasis, secretory pathway metabolism, ER stress responses, liver metabolism, and disease mechanisms . The group uses a multidisciplinary toolkit including cell biology, biochemistry, CRISPR-based approaches, organelle isolation, metabolomics, proteomics, mouse genetics, and disease models. The successful candidate will develop and lead projects aligned with their interests and the lab’s research program. Possible directions include ER redox homeostasis and glutathione metabolism, nutrient flux and transporter biology, organelle-specific omics, CRISPR genetic screens, ER stress and ERAD, liver metabolism, and new tool development for studying ER metabolism in cells and tissues. Eligibility: Applicants must hold a PhD, MD/PhD, or equivalent doctoral degree by the start date. A strong background in cell biology, molecular biology, biochemistry, metabolism, physiology, genetics, chemical biology, or a related field is required. Preferred experience includes mouse models, CRISPR screening, organelle biology, transporter biology, quantitative proteomics/metabolomics, or computational analysis of large datasets. Funding: This is a paid postdoctoral appointment. Salary follows Yale University postdoctoral compensation guidelines; the current Year 1 minimum is $68,500, with benefits included. The initial appointment is for one year and may be renewed based on performance and funding. Location: Liu Lab, Department of Cell Biology, Yale School of Medicine, 101 College Street, New Haven, Connecticut, United States. How to apply: Email a CV, a brief research statement, and three references to shanshan.liu@yale.edu with the subject line “Postdoctoral Associate Applicant – Liu Lab.” Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis until the position is filled.
