PhD Opportunities in Chemical and Environmental Sciences: ADC/NDC Synthesis and PROTAC Therapeutic Strategies

PhD Opportunities in Chemical and Environmental Sciences at the University of Insubria Two fully funded PhD positions are being offered within the PhD Programme in Chemical and Environmental Sciences at the University of Insubria, with a planned start in November 2026 and a 3-year duration. These opportunities are especially suitable for candidates with training in organic chemistry or medicinal chemistry , and for applicants with strong practical experience in synthetic organic chemistry laboratories . The projects are co-funded by industrial partners and are designed to combine academic research with industrial collaboration. This makes them attractive for students interested in translational research, drug discovery, and interdisciplinary work across university and company settings. Position 1 is co-funded by Choose Life Biotech (Bellinzona, Switzerland) and focuses on the synthesis and biological characterization of antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs) and nanobody-drug conjugates (NDCs) . Position 2 is co-funded by Italfarmaco (Cinisello Balsamo, Italy) and focuses on the development of PROTAC-based therapeutic strategies . The post highlights a highly interdisciplinary environment at the interface of academia and industry. The official selection process is expected between June and July 2026 . Interested candidates are invited to contact the announcer directly for further information or to express interest. Research keywords: chemical and environmental sciences, organic chemistry, medicinal chemistry, synthetic chemistry, ADCs, NDCs, PROTACs, therapeutic strategies, biological characterization, academia-industry collaboration.
