Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Social Inequalities in Healthy Ageing, Life-Course Epidemiology, Causal Inference and AI/ML

The Stringhini Lab at the University of British Columbia is recruiting a Postdoctoral Research Fellow to work on social inequalities in healthy ageing . The position is based in the UBC School of Population and Public Health and is embedded in the Edwin S.H. Leong Centre for Healthy Aging , offering access to an interdisciplinary network of ageing researchers and collaborators at UBC and beyond. This opportunity is especially relevant for researchers interested in public health , medical science , biology , statistics , and computer science . The project focuses on the intersection of life-course epidemiology , causal inference , and AI/ML methods , using multi-cohort longitudinal data to study how social and environmental exposures become biologically embedded across the life course and shape ageing trajectories. The post is a 1-year appointment with the possibility of renewal and is based in Vancouver, Canada . The announcement highlights the need for strong quantitative skills , expertise in causal inference , and curiosity about applying machine learning/AI to epidemiological data. The start date is September 2026 (flexible). Interested candidates should read the full job description and application instructions via the linked posting. This is a research-focused postdoctoral opening rather than a scholarship or studentship call.
