Postdoctoral Research Associate
to work at the intersection of
agrohydrology

water resources management
,
remote sensing
,
data fusion
, and
machine learning
for environmental systems.
The project focuses on
dryland ecosystems
and aims to integrate hydrologic and crop models such as
SWAT
,
APEX
,
AGES
,
EPIC
, and related tools with geospatial and data-driven approaches to improve estimates of
soil moisture
,
evapotranspiration
, and
crop productivity
.
Applicants should have a Ph.D. in a closely related field such as Agricultural Engineering, Agrohydrology, Ecohydrology, Agrometeorology, Soil and Water Sciences, Crop Sciences, Statistics, or Machine Learning. Strong experience with hydrologic modeling, geospatial tools (ArcGIS, ERDAS, QGIS), statistics, machine learning, data visualization, and technical writing is expected. Preferred experience includes precision agriculture, LiDAR, UAV/drone systems, Arduino-based sensing, extension/outreach, and FAA Remote Pilot Certification.
The position is based in
Brookings, South Dakota
