Hokkaido University’s Institute for Catalysis is recruiting a part-time fixed-term researcher in the Polymer Functional Science Research Division in Sapporo, Hokkaido, Japan . The position is centered on polymer chemistry , organic synthesis chemistry , polymer materials , and organic functional materials . The main duties are the synthesis and purification of low-molecular-weight compounds and polymers, plus structural analysis and characterization of polymer compounds. This is a postdoctoral-equivalent opening, not a PhD or master’s studentship. Applicants must already hold a doctoral degree, or be expected to obtain one by the start date. The posting also asks for hands-on experience with small-molecule synthesis, column chromatography, polymer synthesis, and polymer purification by reprecipitation.
