Postdoc in Computational Peptide Design for Metabolic GPCRs at University of Copenhagen

University of Copenhagen / Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Basic Metabolic Research (CBMR) is recruiting a Postdoc in Computational Peptide Design for Metabolic GPCRs in the Computational Chemistry Unit. This postdoc sits at the intersection of computational chemistry , structural biology , AI-based structure modeling , peptide design , and experimental collaboration. The project focuses on designing peptide ligands for metabolic GPCRs, especially the neuropeptide Y (NPY) and MCH receptor families , using structure-based modelling, co-folding, molecular simulations, Rosetta-like tools, and GPU-accelerated pipelines. The successful candidate will develop and apply scalable computational workflows for peptide-receptor modelling, structural filtering, refinement, and target identification for bioactive peptides. The role is highly interdisciplinary and includes close collaboration with experimental partners for synthesis, pharmacology, and in vivo validation. Eligibility highlights: applicants must hold a PhD in computational chemistry, structural biology, computer science, or a related field; have a strong publication record; be able to work independently; and have strong programming skills (e.g. Python) plus experience with GPU/HPC environments. Excellent English communication skills are required. Preferred experience includes GPCR design, advanced peptide design, peptide-receptor co-folding, molecular dynamics refinement, and integration of computational and experimental data. Program eligibility: the CBMR International PhD & Postdoc Program is open to applicants with a PhD from outside Denmark, or Danish PhD holders with at least 12 months of full-time research experience outside Denmark during or after the PhD. The PhD must be obtained before 2026-11-15 . Funding and terms: this is a full-time 2-year postdoc position.
