University Assistant with Doctorate (Postdoctoral Researcher) in Pharmaceutical Sciences
The University of Graz invites applications for a University Assistant with Doctorate (Postdoctoral Researcher) in the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences. This temporary, full-time position (1.5 years) offers an annual gross salary of at least €70,200.20, with the possibility of overpayment based on qualifications and experience. The successful candidate will join the network pharmacology group, contributing to basic research in pharmaceutical chemistry, biochemistry, molecular biology, computational biology, and bioinformatics.
Responsibilities include independent research and participation in collaborative projects, writing scientific articles and reports, developing research proposals, and engaging in teaching activities such as lectures, seminars, and supervision of practical exercises. The position emphasizes interdisciplinary collaboration and offers access to a vibrant internal continuing education program, healthcare services, and a commitment to diversity, inclusion, and flexibility in working models.
Applicants must hold a PhD or Doctorate in life sciences, computational biology, bioinformatics, or a related field. Essential qualifications include excellent practical knowledge in molecular biology, biochemistry, cell biology, or programming, as well as advanced skills in computational biology/bioinformatics methods, including analytical and statistical techniques, machine learning, and biological data integration (genomics & proteomics). Excellent English proficiency is required. Desirable attributes include successful authorship in scientific publications, international experience, didactic qualifications in undergraduate teaching, strong interpersonal and communication skills, attention to detail, and a collaborative mindset.
